‘Get Out’s Lakeith Stanfield Joins ‘The Girl In The Spider’s Web’

Variety reports that Get Out breakout actor Lakieth Standfield (Atlanta) has joined the cast of Sony’s The Girl In The Spider’s Web.

Director Fede Alvarez‘s new cast includes Claire Foy (The Crown) replacing Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason replacing Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist, Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049), Cameron Britton (Mindhunter), and Claes Bang (The Square) will play the film’s villain.

Omega Underground previously reported filming begins this month in Berlin, Germany and Stockholm, Sweden. We also learned major crew hires include cinematographer Pedro Luque (Jacob’s Ladder Remake, Don’t Breathe) and veteran production designer Eve Stewart (The King’s Speech, The Danish Girl, Les Misérables).

Sony has slated the film for a release date of December 19th, 2018.
