Deadline is reporting that Sony is really trying to milk all they can from the Ghostbusters franchise, as another film is in the works. This time focusing a group of dudes which could be led by producer Channing Tatum with The Russo Brothers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War) attached to direct and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) set to write the script.

It’s said the film be the counterpart to Paul Feig’s female-led Ghostbusters film which is due out next summer starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. The assumption being the two films will be set in the same connective universe.

Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd are said to be part of the brain-trust but it’s unknown how much they’ll actually be contributing creatively to the project. I have doubts this is actually the dumb-as-nails Ghostbusters 3 script Dan has been pitching for twenty years.

Fans thought the Russos’ first-look deal with Sony could have led them to direct the new Spider-Man films but that idea has seemingly been tossed out the window.
