As an avid reader, it takes a lot to get me invested in something, and Gillen and McKelvie certainly have made me care about this wonderful book. After the conclusion of The Faust Act, with Lucifer dying and the last issue revealing truths about an attempted assassination on Luci’s life from back in the first issue, Inanna and Laura have some thinking to do. However, all that must wait until Fantheon is over. Imagine ComicCon, but for gods.

After an introduction to Woden, Minerva and a theory called the Prometheus Gambit-an untested theory wherein if a regular human kills a god and says “Prometheus” the killer gains that god’s powers and lifespan-Laura meets up with Baphomet who convinces Laura that the Morrigan wants to speak with her. After a serious conversation dancing around the topic of Luci and what Laura is going through, Laura spends the evening with Baphomet and the Morrigan. On the last page we learn who the next new god is going to be, but I won’t say who it is.

As always the art and coloring in this book is fantastic, McKelvie and Wilson are a perfect match for each other, the colors in this making each character pop with every page. I’ve loved this book since the very beginning and it just keeps better and better.
