Sep 12, 2017

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s Captain Marvel had a shake-up recently moving production from Atlanta to Los Angeles, also hiring screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet to finish the script (by Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve) ahead of the production start expected to take place early next year.

The 90s-set film will introduce audiences to Carol Dancers (Brie Larson) with a younger Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) along with incorporating the Kree-Skrull War.

It’s expected the cosmic side of the universe will be explored which makes the recent production hire an extremely smart choice.

We’ve learned that Oscar nominated production designer Andy Nicholson has been tapped for Captain Marvel. Andy, is likely best known for his work on Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity which earned him his nomination.

He’s also worked with Marvel and Disney on previous projects over the years.

Nicholson’s other recent work includes Assassin’s Creed and Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom.Work as an art director/various department roles include credits such as Captain America: The First Avenger, The Wolfman, RocknRolla, Alice In Wonderland, and Bourne Ultimatum.

Captain Marvel is set for release on March 8th, 2019.
