Several days ago during the press tours for Avengers: Age of Ultron Marvel Head Kevin Feige mentioned that the screenwriters for their upcoming Captain Marvel film would be announced very shortly. Now The Hollywood Reporter got the scoop that the studio has offered Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman as well as Pixar’s Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve to pen the script. This would be Marvel’s first female lead superhero film to date and is in active pursuit for a female director. Captain Marvel was included in earlier drafts for Age of Ultron but was taken out due to her not having an origin story yet. Many names have been thrown out there on who will play Carol Danvers. These include such actresses like Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastian as well as Joss Whedon alum Katee Sackhoff.
