Guy Ritchie’s ‘Aladdin’ Shooting From July-January In London

Mar 9, 2017

We were recently able to confirm Guy Ritchie as the director of Disney’s live-action Aladdin taking place this summer in London.

Now, there’s a new bit of information seemingly revealing production dates along with criteria for their open casting search for the musical.

What looks like an updated casting call has surfaced on Twitter and looks to be a screenshot from a UK casting call which is most likely linked to casting director Adam Caldwell (A Place Beyond The Pines) via the email address. It lists the production taking place between July and January, it was previously confirmed that the film will be casting in London.

We suspect that once Mary Poppins Returns wraps production Aladdin will move into the stage space at Shepperton Studios, Shepperton, Surrey, England, UK.

Other Disney productions shot at the facility include Beast and The Beast, Alice Through The Looking Glass, Into The Woods, and John Carter of Mars. Ritchie shot Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows there as well.

It should be noted they are indeed looking for Middle Eastern actors for the lead roles (something echoed by producers) and should easy many that were concerned.
