Harry Styles Offered Small Role In Christopher Nolan’s WWII Film ‘Dunkirk’

Mar 13, 2016

Deadline reports that singer Harry Styles is looking to make his feature acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s WWII action film Dunkirk.

The studio is said to have made an offer for Styles to have a small supporting role in the film.

Dubbed Operation Dynamo, the evacuation of Dunkirk was a British military operation that saved some 330,000 Allied soldiers trapped in the harbor and surrounded by the German army.

Oscar winner Mark Rylance of Bridge of Spies, Oscar nominees Tom Hardy of The Revenant and Kenneth Branagh are more than likely leading the film.

The Wrap adds that newcomer Fionn Whitehead is being eyed for a possible lead role.

Some might find it odd that Nolan is aiming to cast unknowns to play British soldiers, but it’s really no different than what HBO did when casting a large group of actors for Band of Brothers and The Pacific. It’s expected the cast could be just as big considering the huge troop involvement in Dunkirk.

The film has a release date of July 21st, 2017.
