It was recently reported that Universal was in talks with Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde director David Leitch to direct their Fast and The Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw.

Now, Omega Underground has learned when they are expecting to get the cameras rolling. The Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham action flick is eyeing a start on September 4th.

The start makes sense as Johnson will wrap Disney’s Jungle Cruise around August and usually has little down time between shoots.

At one time, there had been talk that Charlize Theron‘s Cypher could have a role and with her Atomic Blonde director seemingly attached it could be a way to convince her to come on board.

Universal has set the release date for July 26th, 2019 but will be going up against Tim Miller’s Terminator, we suspect one of these films will be moving.
