And get them for your collection

It’s hard to resist burying your face warm and fluffy things. The action just gives you a happy fuzzy feeling in your heart. And that’s precisely why you should have an alpaca mount for your World of Warcraft character! They fit all the characteristics to give you all the warm fuzzies (other than the tendency to spit). And here’s the clincher: You don’t even need currency, WoW or WoW Classic gold, to get them!

Here’s how to get all three alpaca mounts in WoW Retail.

Springfur Alpaca

You’ll find NPCs called the ‘Friendly Alpaca’ at times in Uldum. They appear randomly and stick around for about half-an-hour. What you have to do is feed them daily for 7 straight days, as part of the World of Warcraft ‘Alpaca It Up’ quest. After feeding them 7 times, the quest turns into ‘Alpaca It In’, with the reward of the Reins of the Springfur Alpaca.

Now, since the Friendly Alpacas don’t stick around for long, you should have the Gersahl Greens on hand. Collect seven of them so you can be ready to feed anytime you see one. You’ll find the greens along the river that runs through Uldum.

Elusive Quickfoot

True to its name, this elusive World of Warcraft Alpaca only spawns for 3-5 hours somewhere in Vol’dun. You’ll have to find it and feed it the Seaside Leafy Green Mix, which you can get from food vendors. Once you do, its reins will appear in your inventory.

The Elusive Quickfoot may appear in these areas:

  • The Terrace of the Devoted
  • The area south of the terrace
  • The small green area west of Atul’aman
  • A little southwest of the last area
  • Near the Temple of Akunda
  • The path going north from the temple
  • Near or in the Vulpera Hideaway

The World of Warcraft Alpaca tends to roam freely, so search the areas thoroughly. You’ll be in a bit of competition among other players, as they also want this mount for themselves.

Mollie

While the method to get this mount is easier as it is a loot drop, the problem lies in what it drops from. Dunegorger Kraulok is the one who does, and he’s a world boss. With world bosses rotating every so often, it may take some time before he appears in Vol’dun again. You can use the time to train up and find a team, so eliminating the boss will be a cinch. Some add-ons that keep track of world bosses may help you in finding an opportunity to fight him.

What complicates getting this mount even more is that there isn’t a set drop rate for the item. With the boss appearing so rarely, you can be sure you’ll need much effort to find one. Hope you find that Slightly Damp Pile of Fur!

Remember, these mounts are not WoW Classic items. They can’t be bought for WoW Classic gold. That said, the items are bind on pick-up so you can’t trade or sell them. If you really want these World of Warcraft Alpaca mounts, you have to do these quests yourself.

At any rate, enjoy your new mounts!
