Hugh Jackman Confirms Old Man Logan For ‘Wolverine 3’

Jul 12, 2015

Hugh Jackman surprised fans in Hall H during Comic-Con today, appearing at the Fox panel to confirm that Wolverine 3 would indeed be his final outing as the berserker, and that the third film would take cues from the Old Man Logan storyline. Stating, “Three words.. Old Man Logan”.

Logan, is placed in a post-apocalyptic wasteland surrounded by surviving Marvel heroes and villains. Many of which cannot be used by Fox, so it’s concept could¬†be used but major character replacements will be needed. Jackman also revealed a promo image that showed him sporting only one claw, joking giving the middle-claw in the shot.

After the widely praised and embraced Mad Max: Fury Road, I’m sure Fox feels confident in the material that is somewhat similar to that wasteland world, adding the superhero mythology to it. It remains to be seen if the film will be as graphic or sexual as the source material, but after Deadpool earning an R-rating anything is possible.¬†Besides, James Mangold directing the film and the possibility of Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier (I assume replacing Hawkeye) having a large role in the film, we really have little details about what direction the cinematic version will be going.
