James Wan’s ‘Aquaman’ Production Start Date Revealed

We recently learned that James Wan (Insidious, The Conjuring, Fast and Furious 7, and Saw) will begin shooting Aquaman aka Ahab at Oxenford, Queensland, Australia at Village Roadshow Gold Coast studio facility starting in May.

A new production update has revealed the actual production start date.

 

It looks like Wan will begin shooting Aquaman on May 22nd.

Jason Momoa will be reprising the role of Arthur Curry with Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and Patrick Wilson as main villain Ocean Master.

Rumors have suggested that treasure hunter villain Black Manta will have a role to play in the film too.

It was revealed that a while back that James had been doing location scouting at Petty Harbour in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

 

Wan has also teased The Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy could be one of the locations for the film as seen in an Instagram post. It’s also said the film could shoot around Sicily as well sometime in the fall.
