Jason Momoa To Star In ‘Just Cause’ Film; Brad Peyton To Direct

Mar 8, 2017

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has gone and bagged himself another big role, in the film adaptation of popular video game franchise Just Cause.

Eidos Interactive released the first Just Cause game over a decade ago, the last installment of the franchise was in 2015.

Momoa will play the bad ass Government agent Rico Rodriguez, who enjoys blowing up everything in sight as he overthrows dictatorships in fictional Mediterranean countries.

San Andreas director Brad Peyton will helm Just Cause, from a screenplay by writer John Collee (Happy Feet, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World).

Video game adaptations have never hit the mark with audiences. Whilst there’s potential, we’ve yet to be blessed with a truly outstanding film. There’s still high hopes for genre though, with the Tomb Raider reboot coming out next year, as well as Brad Peyton’s Rampage. There’s also various other video game films in different stages of development.

Jason Momoa will next be seen in this year’s Justice League movie as Aquaman, starring alongside Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher.

No release date has been set for Just Cause.
