THR reports that director Niki Caro has cast Mulan‘s villain as they’ve set Jason Scott Lee (Soldier) in the role of Bori Khan.
The rest of the cast consists of Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Yifei Liu, and Li Gong. Filming will take place in New Zealand and China.
The Chinese poem originally inspired Disney’s animated film that become one of the final 2D releases from their animation studio, which is the main influence of this new live-action movie.
Disney has set the film’s release date for March 27th, 2020.
