To say that Jem and the Holograms have been through a lot recently, would be an understatement!  We have seen Jerrica try to come to real terms with her double life.  In doing so, she ended up losing Rio.  We have seen the Holograms gain new members, and regain old ones.  Not to mention the never ending battle with The Misfit!  Now they are trying to save another universe from the evil company, Jemcorp.  Assuming they are as evil as we are being led to believe.

Now with The Misfits exploring outside the wall, Jem and crew have to find help from the one person they thought they would never see again… their father.  The meeting with alternate-dad is full of emotions.  What this issue lacks in action, it makes up for in character building.  The girls have to form a plan, and in doing so, find out a few secrets about this earth.  I would love to reveal them all right here, but that would ruin the moment for you.  Needless to say, you will be taken on a ride!

As far as the art goes, I do not know how they keep it up!  This is another beautiful issue with many panels worth framing.  It is very cool to see this larger (and pinker) than life world and have it feel realistic.  IDW hires people who are obviously familiar with the works that they are given.  I cannot wait to see what the world outside the wall looks like when we join The Misfits.
