Jem and the Holograms have traveled through Techrat’s portal to another Earth. If that was not stressful enough, The Misfits followed them!  Once they enter, The Misfits start regretting their decision. This alternative Earth is a Jem fan’s dream world. Everything is, as Pizzazz put it, “Easter colored,” and Holograms music is playing everywhere. But Techrat said that his Earth was in danger, right? This looks like a pastel pink paradise, but looks can be deceiving.

In this world only the top of the top get to bask in the glow of the Holograms. Anybody who cannot afford it has to live outside the wall of the city. It is up to Jem and her crew to fix this problem and set things right.  While they do that, Pizzazz and the Misfits are going over the wall to find out what happened to this Earth’s Misfits. What will both bands find, and how will learning the truth help save the people of this reality?

This new story arc for the Holograms and Misfits is like nothing that I have seen before. It is a mix of super heroes, sci-fi, and music video. While there is a friendliness to the art, within the story, there is a darkness. When you read it, you can feel the burning disdain that Pizzazz has for Jem, but you can also see where it comes from. She is just a mama bear looking after her cubs.  I cannot wait to see what they find out on their mission!
