Joe Carnahan Completes His Draft For Shawn Levy’s ‘Uncharted’ Movie

Jan 8, 2017

A while back Sony Pictures hired writer-director Joe Carnahan to pen a new draft for their live-action feature adaptation of the massively popular and cinematic video game franchise Uncharted.

Joe has given everyone an update via Instragram as he has completed his draft of the script.

Shawn Levy (Stranger Things, Real Steel) had recently been hired by Sony to direct as Joe is about to start shooting Bad Boys For Life in the next couple of months.

We’re still optimistic but with recent projects like Assassin’s Creed failing to meet basic plot standards and having trouble finding an audience even with the impressive creative team behind it this has us a little concerned for future video game projects rushing to get into theaters.

There is an expectation that Sony’s Uncharted and MGM’s The Tomb Raider could fair better considering the two treasure hunter games are pastiches of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg’s well established Indiana Jones franchise.
