Joe Cornish’s ‘Section 6’ Lawsuit Settled; Film Starring Jack O’Connell Moving Forward

Apr 1, 2015

We just learned that the screenwriter of Joe Cornish‘s Section 6 will be penning G.I. Joe 3, but one aspect of that Hollywood Reporter article should be worth mentioning too.

They’ve revealed that the lawsuit that was filed against the project by the James Bond people had been settled back in January and the film focusing on the origins of MI6 is indeed moving forward at Universal.

The project, however, provoked a lawsuit from MGM and James Bond rightsholder Danjaq who claimed it was a Bond knockoff.

The suit was settled in January and now the project, with Joe Cornish attached to direct and Jack O’Connell attached to star, is moving forward.

You can actually read some exclusive plot details on the project over at our old website Superhero Movie News. Joe Cornish is said to be still directing the film and rising action actor Jack O’Connell will star. Jack’s credits include Unbroken, ’71, Starred Up, and 300: Rise of An Empire. This might be older information but it’s nice to know things are back on track.
