Jon Favreau and Justin Marks Returning For ‘The Jungle Book 2’; Might Be Coming In 2018

Apr 25, 2016

The Jungle Book 2 is said to be among the new crop of release dates claimed by Walt Disney Pictures. Director Jon Favreau and screenwriter Justin Marks are said to be returning for the sequel via Deadline.

The first installment has been number one domestically for two weekends with a current worldwide total of $533.5 million.

The Hollywood Reporter speculates that The Jungle Book 2 could be ready for release for August or November 2018, putting it right in the path of Warner Bros’ terribly unneeded Jungle Book: Origins which has been slated for an October 2018 release date.

Another release date is April 6th, 2018, which might be better suited for Jungle Book 2 as the first installment released this April.

I’m curious if the village will play a huge role in the second film along with the character Shanti.
