While this came out of nowhere! Even though Josh Brolin is currently filming Avengers: Infinity War as the Mad Titan Thanos the actor has also signed on to another Marvel property in Fox’s upcoming Deadpool 2. According to The Hollywood Reporter the search was long and hard with many actors in the running for the role including Brad Pitt coming very close to signing on. Other names like Micheal Shannon and David Harbour were in the mix. With fan-favorite Stephen Lang name constantly being thrown around since 2009.
It would seem that Thanos must not play a major role in Avengers 4 since both films will be filming co-currently through November. Which would give Brolin time to film Deadpool 2 starting this May as Omega Underground previously reported. Currently, this deal will have Brolin appear in 4 upcoming Fox films obviously including X-Force. Making him the next big star in the X-Men Cinematic Universe.
Brolin will co-star alongside returning star Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth Deadpool. Also, Atlanta star Zazie Beetz was cast last month as Domino.
Both Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2 will debut next year
