Jovanka Vuckovic Would Love To Direct An Episode of ‘Jessica Jones’
We just learned from Jessica Jones showrunner and executive producer Melissa Rosenberg (Dexter) they are planning an all-female lineup to direct the thirteen episodes of the second season.
The character will be seen next in The Defenders, but second season likely won’t begin shooting until Daredevil season three finishes up first. This gives Marvel Television plenty of time to put together a fantastic group of directors.
We’ve discovered one director that would be interested in taking a crack at an episode.
Canadian horror director Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured Bird, XX) happens to be one of the first we’ve seen that really wants to get involved in season two.
She first tweeted out the news that Jessica Jones will be directed by entirely female directors and we of course suggested she’d be an excellent candidate to be one of those women.
Her response to our suggestion.

Her feature debut will be in the all-female horror anthology XX, her segment The Box stars The Strain‘s Natalie Brown.
Here is her Lovecraftian short film The Captured Bird, which was executive produced by Guillermo del Toro.
If they attempted to add the horror elements for Trish Walker’s Hellcat (Rachel Taylor) and her boy toy Daimon Hellstrom aka Son of Satan, this would be totally in Jovank’s wheelhouse. The wife and husband team eventually become paranormal investigators (think the Warrens meet Doctor Strange) and could land their own series.
