It’s been revealed by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick during a Nerdist interview on Facebook (via HeroicHollywood) that Karan Soni (Safety Guaranteed) will be returning for Deadpool 2. Soni plays the Deadpool’s pal and sketchy cab driver Dopinder.
“I would say that the relationship between Dopinder and Deadpool was the most fun for me. I love that relationship and I love that character. And he’ll be in the sequel.”
This would be the first confirmation of a returning cast member other than Ryan Reynolds. Dopinder might actually make a great replacement for a character like Bob of HYDRA if that’s their intention.
