Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed a production start date for the next standalone Star Wars film to Lizo Mzimba of BBC (via Screen Rant).
Kennedy has revealed that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will begin shooting the untitled Han Solo film starting in February. The production was originally expected to begin late January or early February, but we now have a better idea of when it will actually start shooting.

“We’re actually very close, we’re going to start shooting in February.”
This means we’ll be getting more casting information on the standalone very soon.
Currently, our leads include Alden Ehrenreich (Hail! Caesar) as Han Solo, Donald Glover (Atlanta, The Martian, Community) Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as the unnamed female lead (Sana Starros or Bria Tharen?).
Han Solo has the release date of May 25th, 2018.
