It doesn’t sound like we’ll be seeing the return of Aaron Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in Godzilla: King of The Monsters, as Variety is stating that Japanese actor Ken Watanabe is likely going to be the only returning cast member from the original film to join.
Sources tell Variety that Watanabe is the only original cast member likely to return for the second installment.
Ken played a lead Monarch agent, and will likely become the connective tissue between Godzilla and Kong franchises running up to their crossover film.
The cast currently consists of Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, and possibly O’Shea Jackson Jr. The film begins shooting this summer with a release date set for March 22nd, 2019.
