Sources are telling Variety that Algerian actress Sofia Boutella best known as the villain in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service has taken a role in Justin Lin‘s Star Trek 3 that is being written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung.

Her role isn’t mentioned in the trade report but we’ve been hearing a couple of the female roles which are plenty could include Kirk’s rival which is a female Starship Captain who could be younger or Nurse Chapel a crew member that Kirk has sexually harassed chasing her off the ship. I sort of doubt she’ll be playing the president role or one of Bones’ ex-wives because she’s a bit too young for the those parts. Another role could be opposite the recently linked Idris Elba who might be playing the film’s villain.
Star Trek 3 is hitting theatres next July.
