Today, Deadline is reporting that up and coming breakout star Taron Egerton is the front runner to star in Robin Hood: Origins. After his breakout role in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service the actor has become a top name for many projects including top fan’s choice for a young Han Solo in future Star Wars spin-offs. While he is indeed the frontrunner to play Robin Hood in this upcoming Dark Knight re-imagining of the classic Robin Hood tale; the actor may have scheduling conflicts with a Kingsman sequel in the works.
Joby Harold the scribe behind the upcoming Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur reboot is also writing this film. Robin Hood returns from fighting in The Crusades and finds that Sherwood Forest is rife with corruption and evil. He forms a band of outlaws and they take matters into their own hands.
Production is expected to begin in early 2016…
