While we’ve heard talk of development on a sequel to Man of Steel 2, WB hasn’t actually given the project a production start or release date. They still haven’t found a director or even officially announced writers for it. Names that been linked for talks recently included George Miller and Matthew Vaughn. However, it doesn’t look like either are getting the gig.
I guess we can now add Kong: Skull Island’s Jordan Vogt-Roberts to the list of those that are unlikely to direct Man of Steel 2. He revealed on Twitter that the studio had passed on his Red Son pitch based on the Mark Millar comic.
Re: Red Son story. I have no idea if this is being developed. I pitched it to DC as something *i want to do* not something they pitched me.

It doesn’t sound like WB found the idea of a Russian Superman too thrilling, so don’t get your hopes up that this would become the storyline they end up using. Although many sites are running with the untrue idea this was the studio’s idea and not Jordan’s.
