Legendary Moves ‘Detective Pikachu’ From Universal to Warner Brothers

Jul 25, 2018

Today, it was announced that Legendary’s upcoming live-action Pokemon film Detective Pikachu has moved from Universal Pictures to Warner Brothers. This comes off a 5-year deal Legendary signed with Universal to help produce a slew of upcoming films. However, after the disappointing flow that was Dwayne Johnson’s Skyscraper, it looks like Legendary wants to partner up once again with Warner Brothers. WB will also be distributing Godzilla: King of the Monsters for Legendary.

Detective Pikachu stars Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton as they try to uncover why capture Pokemon are turning on their trainers. As well as why Tim (Played by Justice Smith) was left with a talking Pikachu (Voiced by Ryan Reynolds) by his missing father.

Detective Pikachu hits theaters May 10th, 2019
