LONE SLOANE: DELIRIUS VOL.2

Lone Sloane: Delirius vol.2 follows the titular hero back to the planet of a thousand pleasures – Delirius. But is it all a ruse to get the man of action back to the fray of Delirius?

THE STORY OF LOANE SLOANE DELIRIUS VOL.2

The issue opens with Sloane back on his feet after his latest exploit. Helping to assist in a rebellion seems to be something he is quite good at. As everyone else is basking in the victory, Sloan receives a distress call that he can’t ignore. Yearl, his best friend and comrade in arms, reaches out to Sloane for a rescue mission. One that requires hims to return to a planet that he thought he would never see again.  It seems that Year’s daughter Mali has been kidnapped. It is up to Sloane and Yearl to go and save her from the would-be kidnappers.

Sloane is quite confident upon arriving at the hedonistic planet that he can rescue Mali and get out unnoticed. But given that things rarely seem to go as planned a simple rescue mission turns into a fight for survival. Will Sloane come out on top or will the evil Shaan prove too much for him?

OVERALL.

This could easily be overlooked as just another science fiction action comic if not for the bizarre world created and illustrated by Druillet. The story and the art reads and feels something like taking Requiem for a Dream and mashing it up with Flash Gordon. Phillipe Druillet`s art is truly something out of this world. A portion of your most wildest lucid dreams would be the closest comparison. The art is delirious leaning towards a state of wild excitement or ecstasy. The story is nothing exceptional and it was quite difficult to follow at times. But the story carries on with a nice pace and a steady flow. While this comic may feel niche I think fans of the original series will truly appreciate it and that it has potential to entice new readers with its unique style.
