Shazam: Fury of the Gods casting is coming in hot with the villains as Variety is now reporting Lucy Liu will join Helen Mirren as one of the films villains.
Liu will be playing the sister of Mirren’s character (Hespera), Kalypso and both will be god like characters who are the daughters to Greek God Atlas. These characters don’t have DC counterparts but they seem to be based off the three witches in DC comics. A coven of villainous sisters who look to cause chaos for our DC heroes. Little is know about the sisters in the comics as they are often portrayed in different incarnations but consist of one older, one middle-aged and one younger an use magic and mysticism to intact their evil plans.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods will once again be directed by David Sandberg and star Zachary Levi and Asher Angel with a screenplay by Henry Gayden.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to open on June 2, 2023.
