Today, The Wrap is reporting that This Is Us and Luke Cage star Ron Cephas has entered talks to play The Wizard in DC Comics upcoming film Shazam! Production is expected to begin in February in Toronto with table reading already beginning.
Asher Angel has been cast as the kid hero Billy Batson whom The Wizard bestows the powers of Shazam upon. And when he says the word “Shazam” he is transformed into the adult hero played by Zachary Levi. Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews and Faithe Herman round out the cast.
Shazam! will hit theaters April 2019
