Eagle-eyed DC Comic fans have brought it to our attention that Magnificent Seven and Hardcore Henry actress Haley Bennett (The Girl On The Train, The Equalizer, Song To Song) could be teasing that she’s landed the Selina Kyle/Catwoman role in David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens via Instagram.

The actress teased the potential role on her Instagram account first posting a Bruce Timm piece of artwork of Selina Kyle and also posted images of herself in a new pixie-cut. A signature hairstyle of more recent comic book incarnations of Catwoman.

Margot Robbie is returning as Harley Quinn and it’s confirmed that Poison Ivy will be in the lineup as well. Production on Gotham City Sirens is said to begin sometime this year with an expected release date in 2018The Tomb Raider‘s screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet will be penning the spinoff’s script.

If Haley Bennett is indeed taking the Selina Kyle role this would mean that she’d also be a part of The Batman film as well. It’s looking like director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, War For The Planet of The Apes, Dawn of The Planet of The Apes) is a strong contender to replace Ben Affleck for the solo film. Affleck will reprise the titular role alongside with co-stars Joe Manganiello, J.K. Simmons, and Jeremy Irons.
