Mark Hamill’s Secret Son Sebastian Stan Game To Play Luke Skywalker In The Future

Nov 16, 2017

For a while now, Star Wars actor Mark Hamill and Captain America actor Sebastian Stan have been teasing each other in the press and online about Stan eerily looking like Hamill. Possibly being his father as well.

Leading to a lot of fans suggesting that Sebastian should play Luke Skywalker if Lucasfilm ever attempted an anthology film where a younger Luke would be needed.

Well, Stan was mentioned at the Rhode Island Comic-Con (via CBM) he’d like a crack at playing Luke Skywalker in a future film and is waiting for a call from Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm.

I just want to say here that anytime that anyone would like to call me and ask me about Luke Skywalker I’d be very happy [to play him.]”

As far as we know there aren’t any current plans for a Skywalker anthology film but there is a chunk of Luke’s life that might be worth exploring in a self-contained story. That being what he gets up to between the events of Return of the Jedi and the Battle of Jakku.

This would be a little more viable than say a Yoda movie because there are a couple of ways it could go. Luke completing his Jedi training, leading a squad of pilots, or even starting up a new Jedi Academy.

After the reported difficulties with Han Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich, Lucasfilm might look forward to working with folks like Ewan McGregor (Kenobi) and Stan on future films. There are also plenty of examples of Star Wars and Marvel actors switching between franchises with Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Mads Mikkelsen, Donald Glover, Paul Bettany, and possibly even Ben Mendelsohn.

Rian Johnson is apparently gearing up for a new trilogy of his own while anthology films like Kenobi and Boba Fett are still in development stages. Along with Disney attempting a live-action series for their new streaming service.

Stan will be seen next in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
