When the comic book industry started to feel the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, an idea surfaced that all readers can get behind: a Marvel-DC Crossover.

It’s been a while since the two companies joined forces, and it’d probably complicated to do on the business end, but these are unprecedented times. Plus (*SPOILER*) if you read Doomsday Clock you know it’s not farfetched to think a Marvel-DC Crossover event could happen.

Now, Scott Snyder’s proposal of Batman vs. everyone sounds amazing, and Tom Taylor writing and X-Men/Justice League story would be great, but Gail Simone — who started this conversation —Donny Cates and others came up with some great team-ups and 1-on-1 stories. The possibilities are truly endless.

So how about …

Deathstroke hunts Wolverine

The Pitch: Deathstroke and Wolverine are two of the most unforgiving characters in all of comics. They deserve each other. And while the Superman Marvel-DC Crossover idea will provide plenty of action, it comes with some limitations. That won’t be the case with Deathstroke and Wolverine. The battle between these two would be gruesome and never-ending.

Plot: Deathstroke has been given a new target. But, he received limited details about this individual. All Deathstroke knows is where to find this guy, that he’s fairly dangerous and his name is Logan. Deathstroke soon finds out he was ill-prepared — to say the least. He begins to wonder if he’s been set up, because Logan’s powers are far more advanced than his or that of any other metahuman Deathstroke has encountered.

Setting: The Canadian wilderness in the DC Universe. This way, Wolverine is still in his element yet they’re still in Deathstroke’s world — so he could easily get hired for a job like this.

Other Characters: Deathstroke finds Wolverine as he’s hunting down Sabretooth — and Logan is ready to finally end the back-and-forth these two have had for years. As the two title characters meet, Sabretooth is able to sneak away. He later pops up when it becomes clear he had a role in Deathstroke and Wolverine’s initial meeting.

Notes: This crossover could be an all-time 1-on-1 battle, so you need an all-time artist like Capullo. … Ken Lashley recently shared an awesome image of Sabretooth and Wolverine. He’d be a great choice, as well.
