Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer Jeph Loeb announced that veteran TV director S.J. Clarkson will helm the first two episodes of Marvel’s The Defenders limited series for Netflix. Clarkson has previously directed multiple episodes of Dexter, Bates Motel and Heroes in the US as well as Life on Mars and Eastenders in the UK. She is also no stranger to either Netflix or Marvel having helmed episodes of Orange in the New Black and Jessica Jones.
With the 8 episode Defenders limited series set for release in 2017, I am excited to see her take on the material, how she sets the tone for the series and her vision of this element of the Marvel Universe. 2017 can’t come soon enough.
