Marvel Reportedly Hires Director Cate Shortland For ‘Black Widow’ – Likely To Begin Filming Next Spring/Summer

Jul 12, 2018

It looks like Marvel Studios has finally settled on a Black Widow director!

THR reports that the studio has hired Australian director Cate Shortland for the MCU flick starring Scarlett Johansson. Apparently, she was chosen out of a pool of over seventy directors.

Jac Schaeffer penned the most recent draft of the script.

The next step will be assembling the crew and cast along with establishing where they plan on filming it.

We assume filming could begin around spring/summer of next year likely after James Gunn wraps on Guardians 3 with Black Widow potentially landing that July 31st, 2020 release date.
