Showrunner Jeremy Slater is assembling a writer’s room for ‘Moon Knight’, with the first addition being ‘The Originals’ alum Beau DeMayo.

DeMayo most recently wrote the third episode of Netflix’s hit fantasy series ‘The Witcher’ and will next pen the script for the anime movie spin-off with showrunner Lauren Hirsch. He also wrote seven episodes of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ spin-off ‘The Originals’, as well as several issues of The Vampire Diaries comic.

‘Moon Knight’ will begin production later this year in the UK. The show is based on the Moon Knight comic, which follows a man with DID who receives powers from the Egyptian god Knoshu. It will release sometime in either 2021 or 2022. Casting is currently underway for a Jewish actor to play the lead role of Marc Spector.

DeMayo announced the news on his Twitter.
