Variety has an update concerning Sony’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie which will be directed by Kong: Skull Island‘s Jordan Vogt-Roberts. They report that Jurassic World screenwriter Derek Connolly will tackle a new draft of the script for the studio. Derek has previously worked with Jordan on Skull Island.

While we don’t have any idea when this will begin shooting or who will play Snake. There have been some teases by Vogt-Roberts over the last couple of months that some of the production could be taking place in Detroit, where he recently shot a live-action commercial for Destiny 2.

Jordan is a self-proclaimed video game addict and has been in constant contact with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima during the film’s development.
