Overview
Microsoft has introduced plugins for GPT-based large language models offered on Azure, adopting the open plugin standard that OpenAI has introduced for ChatGPT. This enables interoperability across ChatGPT and the breadth of Microsoft’s copilot offerings, including ChatGPT, Bing, Dynamics 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot. By utilising one platform to build plugins, developers can create experiences that enable people to interact with their apps using the most natural user interface – human language. Plugins enhance an enterprise’s general-purpose large language model with specific domain proficiency, without requiring retraining or fine-tuning for the foundation model.
