Deadline reports that Fifth Element and Resident Evil actress Milla Jovovich is in final talks to play the lead villain in Lionsgate’s Hellboy reboot. Formerly titled Hellboy: Rise of The Blood Queen, Milla would play the titular Blood of Queen in the R-rated reboot.
The Queen of Blood, previously known as Nimue and the Lady of the Lake was the greatest of all British witches.
Milla is an interesting choice and I’m sure her horror fan base via the Resident Evil was a deciding factor. Although outside of those movies she has turned into passable performances, so there is a chance she could be good here.
David Harbour is set play the role of Hellboy with Ian McShane playing his father Professor Broom.
Production is set to begin this fall with Game of Thrones alum Neil Marshall directing.
