‘Morbius’: Tyrese Gibson Confirms Role As Agent Simon Stroud In Sony’s Marvel Movie

Apr 15, 2019

With filming underway, ‘Morbius’ cast member Tyrese Gibson has seemingly confirmed which Marvel character he’ll be playing in the film.

In an Instagram post made earlier today, Gibson showed off the makeup process for the film, as well as using the caption #AgentStroud. This likely refers to the Marvel character Simon Stroud. In the comics, Stroud is a CIA agent who is tasked with hunting down Man-Wolf and Morbius. Furthermore, it was previously revealed Gibson would be playing a federal agent and had signed a 3-film contract. Given this, it’s no surprise he’s playing a notable Marvel character.

Gibson is most well known for his roles in the ‘Fast And Furious’ franchise, as well as a recurring role in Michael Bay’s ‘Transformers’ movies.

‘Morbius’ hails from director Daniel Espinosa and stars Jared Leto as The Living Vampire. The movie is the second entry in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters (or SUMC, for short) following Tom Hardy’s ‘Venom.’ It will hit theaters on July 31st, 2019.
