The Wrap is reporting on some possible details concerning Logan aka Wolverine 3.
I won’t be repeating a lot of what’s in the report to keep people from spoilers, but there is further confirmation that Laura Kinney aka X-23 is indeed in the film. That young girl spotted on set is most likely playing her as well.
Logan ends up mentoring the girl, who has two claws instead of his three.
We had also assumed from Mangold’s coyness to confirm or deny her involvement in the film and her hand being in the poster as signs the previous casting-call rumors were indeed correct.
Bryan Singer has been pushing to see Laura takeover the Wolverine mantle from Logan and Tim Miller has teased wanting to include her in Deadpool 2.
The only real issue I have with Umberto’s report is that he claims that British comedian Stephen Merchant is playing Caliban in the film.
Problem being, the character has already been introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse (set in 1983) as a German character played by Icelandic actor Tomas Lemarquis.
If the setting is indeed 2024, then Caliban would be well into his 60s. Then again, the studio isn’t known of consistency in the timeline. I just feel like Stephen would be better suited for Logan’s comedic shapeshifting pal Morph to be honest.
A trailer should confirm or debunk a lot of the speculation and rumors circling the project, so we’ll have to wait and see to know for sure.
The R-rated Logan is set for release on March 3rd, 2017.
