The Hollywood Report says that Homeland and Firefly actress Morena Baccarin has landed the unnamed female lead in Fox’s Deadpool. The role is not named but will be the love interest to Ryan Reynolds’ character in the X-Men spin-off.
It’s expected the role could be either mutant prostitute Copycat or fellow mercenary and X-Force member Domino.
Pre-production on the film is underway in Vancouver with a February 2016 release date.
Gina Carano (Haywire, Almost Human, Fast 6) and T.J. Miller (Big Hero 6, Silicon Valley, Cloverfield) are also among the cast.
