Neill Blomkamp In Talks To Write and Direct ‘The Gone World’ For Fox

Nov 11, 2015

We learned a couple weeks ago that Neill Blomkamp‘s (District 9, Elysium, ChappieAlien 5 would be placed on hold to allow the studio to focus on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel Alien: Paradise Lost, which needs the extra attention. Neill hinted in the social media announcement that he might be looking at other projects to keep him busy until he was able to come back to the Alien installment.

Deadline reports that Blomkamp has found another sci-fi project at 20th Century Fox, which is based on the upcoming novel by Thomas Sweterlitsch . He’s in talks to write and direct the time travel project The Gone World, there are limited details as the novel has yet to be published.

I’m curious how quickly he can get this into production as we assume that Alien 5, could go back into production in 2017-2018. However, this news seemingly is establishing that the director might have found a new studio home at Fox.
