NERD HQ RETURNS TO SAN DIEGO COMIC CON JULY 9th – 12th WITH A NEW VENUE, NEW PARTNERS, EXCLUSIVE GAMING ACTIVATIONS & EXPANDED ‘CONVERSATIONS WITH A CAUSE’ CELEBRITY PANELS

NerdHQ 2015 Officially partners with Headline Sponsor AMD, Online Media partner IGN Entertainment and promotions/mgmt agency Petrol Advertising Los Angeles

Nerd HQ, presented by Zachary Levi and The Nerd Machine, will take up residence at the home of its new partner ‘The New Children’s Museum’ in downtown San Diego for their annual four-day event. Nerd HQ provides fans a free nerdy retreat during the annual pop culture convention while celebrating the city’s newest Cultural Family Hot Spot. This year is expected to be the biggest year yet with The New Children’s Museum’s creative venue offering NERD fans an amazing, inspiring space, with over 35,000 Sq.ft spanning three floors. This year’s guests can expect an expanded “Conversations for a Cause” panel series on the lower level, a range of fanfocused interactions on the main floor, and in partnership with headline sponsor AMD, the entire top floor will showcase exclusive hands-on game play with a number of this year’s biggest titles.

Nerd HQ 2015 is honored to announce they’re joining forces with global media partner, IGN, to bring Nerd HQ to all those fans that cannot make it to San Diego. IGN will be streaming all of the “Conversations for a Cause” panels on IGN.com, the IGN YouTube channel, TheNerdMachine.com and the Nerd HQ App.

Whether looking for a home base to relax or to meet friends for some fun, Nerd HQ offers something for fans of all ages. The fan-favorite philanthropic panel series ‘Conversations for a Cause’ takes place on the lower level in a dedicated 200-seat auditorium. These panels give fans an incredibly rare opportunity to connect with their favorite actors in an up close, interactive experience. Previous panels have played host to some of the biggest names in pop-culture including Joss Whedon, Richard Madden, Tom Hiddleston, Tatiana Maslany, Nathan Fillion, Sophie Turner, Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan, Jeff Bridges, Seth Green, Jared Padalecki, Katee Sackhoff, Guillermo Del Toro, Vin Diesel, Kellan Lutz, Dylan O’Brien and Norman Reedus, just to name a few.

Tickets for panels are $22, and all proceeds raised through ticket sales go directly to non-profit Operation Smile whose mission is to help improve the health and lives of children across the world.

This year, Nerd HQ is also making it easier for guests to be plugged in to all the fun and excitement by updating the Nerd HQ App. Designed to give fans more access than ever before, the Nerd HQ App, powered by IGN, will have a complete schedule of “Conversations for a Cause,” IGN managed Stage events, Parties, Maps and more. Also included within the app will be links to buy tickets for the panels and push notifications that will inform users of special events like the “Smiles for Smiles” photo opportunities and even a hash tag feed for all #NerdHQ posts. Once downloaded and registered at Nerd HQ, guests will receive a collectible Nerd HQ wristband and the Badge of the Nerdolution. Fans will also receive up-to-the-minute news and updates of happenings at Nerd HQ. They will also be eligible for various exclusive incentives and prizes only available to registered visitors. Direct links to all of Nerd HQ’s various sponsors, as well as one to the donation page for Operation Smile will also be available. The Nerd HQ App can be downloaded for iOS and Android on June 12th, 2015.

Finally, what is Nerd HQ without a dance party? Due to popular demand we’ve extended the Nerd HQ Fan party to two evenings. Open Fan Parties will now occur on Thursday, July 9th and Saturday July 11th. All are welcome to this incredible night of dancing, fun and activities. At an early age I knew I loved two things more than anything else Comic Books and Video Games and no matter how hard my parents tried they couldn't keep me away from the capes and pixels. Now that I have a wife and child of my own I can't wait to share these vast worlds and experiences with them and hopefully you! With GWW I created and become editor of the comics section, which has now become the websites most popular area and features daily post with unique Comic editorials, reviews and previews. Along with Will Elizondo we started the GWW Capes Crew podcast. A weekly show dedicated to to all things Comics, Superheros and Sequential Art. After a year of creating content for GWW I was made its Editor in Chief. I love everything I do and can't think of a better way to spend my time than to spread every form of geekery to every corner of the globe. Comics will all be my passion though and were my heart lies.
