Netflix and Ubisoft Developing An ‘Assassins Creed’ Anime TV Series

Jul 9, 2017

This past weekend Netflix released the first season for their Castlevania series by The Grey and Dredd producer Adi Shankar. Shankar also helped develop several fan-films including The Punisher: Dirty Laundry and Power/Rangers. After working on Castlevania for Netflix the producer has announced on his Facebook page that he is now teaming up with Ubisoft and Netflix to bring Assassins Creed to the small screen in the form on an anime.

Now since this is an original story the timeline in which thsi series can take place is countless. However, with the project being an anime this could allow Shankar to bring the Assassin’s to feudal Japan. This time period has long been rumored as a possible place for a video game that the series will be based off. The series could intorudcea new Assassin who can take on the Templar’s in the form of the Samurai.

Currently, Ubisoft devloped a live-action Assassins Creed movie starring Micheal Fassbender that debuted last Christmas. However, the lackluster critic and box office reception leaves the idea of a sequel almost non-existent.

Assassins Creed has no set release date
