Netflix Cyberpunk Series ‘Altered Carbon’ Shoots Season 2 This October In Vancouver

Jan 9, 2018

It looks like Netflix is keen on making more of the cyberpunk series Altered Carbon (based on the novel by Richard K. Morgan) as they greenlit a second season last month ahead of the first season’s drop on February 2nd.

Omega Underground has learned they’re already eyeing a production start in Vancouver, British Columbia around October. The same location where the first season was shot.

The series is created and run by Avatar’s Laeta Kalogridis (Alita: Battle Angel, Ghost In The Shell) and stars Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop, Suicide Squad).

An intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. His mind was imprisoned – on ice – for centuries until Laurens Bancroft, an impossibly wealthy, long-lived man, offers Kovacs the chance to live again. In exchange, Kovacs has to solve a murder … that of Bancroft himself.
