Netflix’s ‘Sabrina’ Casts Miranda Otto as Her Strict Aunt Zelda

Feb 21, 2018

Several days ago it was revealed that comedian Lucy Davis (Wonder Woman) had been cast as Sabrina Spellman’s quirky understanding adoptive Aunt Hilda. Now today Variety is reporting that Lord of the Rings and 24: Legacy star Miranda Otto has been cast as Sabrina’s more strict Aunt Zelda. Zelda believes there is no greater honor than serving the Dark Lord as a member of the Church of Night. She is the family’s disciplinarian and fiercely protective of Sabrina. Sabrina herself was previously announced to be played by Kiernan Shipka in the upcoming Netflix original series.

The series is a spin-off from The CW’s teen murder drama Riverdale. The only cast member left to cast is Sabrina’s best friend and future lover Harvey Kinkle. We at Omega Underground previously revealed a slew of audition tapes for Harvey late last year. However, as early as a week ago more audition tapes were popping up. Which means the hunt is still on to find the right actor to play the character.

Sabrina starts filming in March; Debuts exclusively on Netflix
