The cast of Peacemaker grows and dives deep into the DC Comics bench as Deadline now reports that Nhut Le will be playing a version of Judo Master in the upcoming HBO Max series.

Le’s background begins in comedy as he comes from the school of UCB and The Groundlings so we can expect his character to have a humerous bent in line with Gunn’s tendency to lean towards the funny.

Judo Master has a complicated history in DC Comics and has had many different versions including War World II to a female version that showed up during a Birds of Prey run. This version sounds like it will be something new while borrowing from the classic DC character.

Le joins a fantastic cast including John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Chris Conrad, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick and Chukwudi Iwuji. The series currently is filming and has no premier date announced but expect more surprises to emerge as Gunn has a lot in store for this upcoming HBO Max series.
