For the hardcore who aren’t happy with Nintendo’s latest console and overall direction, this is something you should be happy about. Bayonetta 2 was not a project tapped for multi-console release like its predecessor. Instead, it was pre-lit concept looking for a sponsor, and Nintendo answered the call. Granted, it’s Bayonetta, not Ico, but the game does have a strong following and now has a second shot life yielding a franchise. It’s is great news from the non-casual gamers perspective.

If we’re lucky, we’ll see Nintendo resurrect other franchises in their bid to attract the hardcore gamer. Perhaps a bidding war of sorts between Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft for great games that deserve sequels. I’m hoping for Shadows of the Damned 2!
