Online gambling is one of the most popular hobbies around the world. It’s a great way to pass time, have fun and possibly even win some extra money. More recently, a new trend has emerged within the online gambling industry; streaming. More and more people have begun to watch streamers on Twitch play slot and table games, but how does it work?

Twitch Streaming

Twitch is an extremely popular streaming platform where users can live stream their games. While the site was first used for streaming video games, many people are now streaming themselves playing slots or table casino games. Today, you can load up Twitch and navigate towards the Gambling Game section where you’ll find several categories of games including Roulette and Slots, the latter of which has over 100,000 followers!

Many users find it fun to watch a streamer play casino games such as slots. The streams all feature dedicated chat rooms where the viewers can socialise by celebrating the streamer’s wins or consoling them over their losses. This has allowed players to form communities and develop friendships, which is great. Meanwhile, other viewers use the streams as a way of checking out a brand new casino game or website, allowing them to preview it before dedicating any real money into it.

Game Developers and Streamers

One of the most well-known streamers was CasinoRobot who played slots on his Twitch channel at sites such as LeoVegas throughout 2016 and 2017. Another well-known streamer is Kim Hultman, known as LetsGiveItASpin on Twitch, who began streaming back in 2015 after landing a big win at an online casino and quickly became popular soon after.

Today, casino operators and game developers have acknowledged the rising popularity of gambling streaming and have begun working with streamers to promote their most recent games. For example, Hultman’s popularity boomed in 2017 after Big Time Gaming struck a deal with him in which he premiered their new game White Rabbit on his Twitch channel shortly before the official release of the slot.

Thousands of viewers tuned in to watch Hultman play the slot and it the game became a huge success. Today, Hultman continues to stream and can usually be found playing at LeoVegas on Twitch or through casino streaming platform and website CasinoGrounds.

More recently, Big Time Gaming, whose games are available at the hugely popular PlayOJO Casino, has continued its partnership with Hultman. The casino player premiered the gaming developer’s latest slot Opal Fruits on his streaming channel in May 2019, helping to promote the game and unveil its gameplay and special features. The stream was a huge success as hundreds of people watched the slot’s premiere.

The Future Of Online Gambling Streaming

Since online gambling streaming has risen in popularity, more and more people have begun streaming their own experiences playing slots. It’s expected this will continue to grow over the next few years and we may see even more developer landing agreements with casino streamers to promote new games. Not only is this great for the streamer, game develop and casino operator, it’s great for the player as you can preview a game before trying it first-hand while also joining a large and friendly casino streaming community.
